What kind of information should be on my website?
Many websites have impressive graphics and look very good. However, they can be let down by poor content, old and outdated information, lack of detail and poor navigation between web pages in the site. Your existing company literature is probably the first step in creating the site for the online community. Any information should be clear and relevant to the intended audience, giving them the information they need.
How do you go about developing my website?
We will both need to understand what your requirements are and how you would like the site to look, coupled with what is technically feasible. What elements of your existing image (logos, fonts and styles) are to be used and how these can be incorporated into the web pages of your site will need to be considered. We will then produce a web page or web pages to give you a feel for what we think will meet with your approval. When any changes have been made and agreement reached we will then begin developing those ideas.
Are there any hidden charges for your website design or optimization services?
No! All sites are built with basic optimization in place. For some small sites we may even decide that further work is not necessary. If your site has content management capabilities then you will already have all the tools at your disposal to carry out your own internet marketing campaigns. However for some clients it may still be necessary to get the "experts" in to help.
If I already have a site can you help me improve it?
Yes. We can redesign or add content to an existing site, and in most cases this costs less money than building one from scratch.
Can I use our existing logo?
Absolutely. The importance of designing the website to incorporate the image your company wishes to project cannot be stressed enough. It is an important marketing tool that can enhance your company image.
What are the things that you expect from my company to complete the web site design?
Brochures, logos, photographs, product descriptions, business cards etc. are all recommended resources to use. For new businesses we will help you get started from scratch. A dedicated person will answer any questions during your website project.
What screen resolution will you design my website for?
Unless the website has special functionality most sites will be 800x600 screen resolution.
Why should I keep the information on my website up to date?
Make sure your site changes regularly. Think about the sites you visit every day. You expect new information, different content. Though site changing content on a daily basis may seem a tall order, it doesn't have to be. It can be as simple as offering a different daily/weekly or monthly tip. For example, a pet site may offer advice on how to keep your pets flea-free all summer one day, and then change it to a tip on pet fitness the next. People will return again and again to view your site if you keep the content fresh and up to date. It is strongly advised that you build into your budget the cost of regular maintenance/updates for your website.
What is a domain name?
Your company needs to have a unique name, or web address (URL). This is the way your customers will find you on the Net. Normally, your web site address will be similar to your domain name. A domain name is a name that you register on the Internet to identify yourself or your company. Often, it is the name of your business or has something in common with the goods you are selling.
For example the domain name for this site is www.lionessvsmdesigns.com.
As a rough guide the cost of registering a domain name is around $10 to $35 per year depending on the registrar.
What is hosting?
Once you have a website and a domain name you will then need to make it accessible to the internet. This can be achieved by housing your site on a computer that is permanently connected to the internet (a server). Using a hosting service lets many users share the cost of a fast Internet connection for serving websites on a machine that has been optimized solely for the purpose. The prices of hosting vary tremendously as does the service provided.
What is search engine optimization?
Optimization is the process of creating your website to be recognized easily and cataloged quickly by search engines. Search engines like Google, Yahoo, MSN and many other search engines provide the easiest way for your site to be found. They are enormous directories that catalog the web and give descriptions and addresses of websites based on the search criteria a user requests. It can take some time for these search engines to catalog a new site and there are many ways of attracting their attention sooner rather than later. We will undertake to design your site to be search engine friendly. It must be stressed that some search engines can take months to catalog an entire website. Don't forget that you will be able to include your web address on all your stationery, advertising and vehicles which will also attract visitors to your website.
REMEMBER submission does not guarantee placement or ranking.
What does copyright mean?
Copyright is a protection that covers published and unpublished literary, scientific and artistic works, whatever the form of expression, provided such works are fixed in a tangible or material form. Additional information can be viewed at:
How do you expect payment for your services?
Upon reaching an agreement, 50% of the quoted price will be paid as a deposit. Balance on completion of the site. Payment will be paid by credit card, cash, check, or money order in US currency. Once the deposit has been received we will begin work on the site.
